This week has been girls week.

Tiger has been out of town.

Grumpy has been out of town. 

When Mattie found out Lolo was home alone, she said

"Lolo, just stay with us this week! We'll have slumber parties every night!"

Well how do you say no to that?

So I have been at my mom's all week with my girls!

WOW!!

It has been a VERY busy week.

Monday we celebrated Memorial Day. 

Well, celebrate isn't exactly the right word to use. 

We remembered all those that have given their all for this wonderful country we live in, 

and we also said goodbye to Phillip. 

He has moved to Germany. 

He is anxiously waiting for the rest of his family to arrive. 

Katie and Mattie spent one last night in the apartment before the movers came in and started packing everything up. 

The have moved in with Mom and will stay there until time for them to leave. 

They have almost got a schedule down to FaceTime with Phillip but it will be a little easier once school is out. 

Which is tomorrow!!

Mattie has one more day as a 3rd grader!!! 

She is growing way too fast!!

Next week she has two days at Maker Academy at ACU. 

She is really looking forward to that.

Next week, we can start to slow down and start enjoying the summer. 

We continue to get rain!! 

Thank you Lord!! 

There is a lot of flooding, 

but we have a few lakes that have not really gained any water.

We continue to pray that rains keeps coming until those lakes are full.

Busy Week

They are in full move mode this week. 

They will be completely out of the apartment by this time next week. 

And Phillip will be looking for their new home in Germany. 

School is nearing the end for Mattie, 

and she had her last official class at RAMA this past Monday.

IT'S THURSDAY!!!!

IT'S PICTURE DAY!!!

I say PJ will be another martial artist!!

Katie says he is kicking all the time!!!

They've had a great week. 

Phillip has been helping Mattie with a school project all week. 

It is complete and ready to turn in on Monday. 

Grumpy and I aren't allowed to see it until Sunday though. 

Mattie also had her GT Showcase this week 

She walked Grumpy and Phillip through three projects. 

Katie and I took pictures. 

It was a great night. 

This weekend, we don't have anything planned 

Except rest. 

We all deserve it, 

Especially Frank. 

He's had several late nights this week.

It's Thursday!!

And that means it's picture day!!

Katie and Phoebe are doing well. 

Katie is still tired a lot and that makes it difficult to get ready to move. 

But other than that, all is well. 

Mattie is looking forward to the end of school. 

Usually, 

this is where I would end the post, 

but we have a few more pictures today!

This Thursday was also sonogram day!!

It was a great appointment and they got to see some really good pictures of their healthy little girl!

But Phillip noticed the doctor say something about Phoebe that Katie didn't catch!!

And then Katie heard what Phillip had heard earlier!!!

It's a BOY!!! 

Yep!!! 

Their having a boy!!

Philip Erich Holland!!!

 Phillip is one excited daddy!!

And though we are so excited that it is a boy,

we are so thankful and blessed that it is healthy little miracle from God!

Well someone says homework is more important than the picture. 

I guess they're right. 

I'll give them a pass this week.

Oh No!!

Not much happening.

Just work, which is great!

But today I realized we have a conflict on the calendar.

I have planned to start fishing tournaments this year after a 2 year hiatus.

Our state tournament is October 2 - 4.

My new grandbaby will be due right around that time!

So now, I really don't know what to do.

I guess this is one of those times I really need to let go and God will take care of it!!

Katie Can't Cook!

If you know my daughter, you know she is not the most domestic person around. She doesn't clean, failed apparel, and in no shape form or fashion can that girl cook!! Thank goodness for frozen foods or she would starve if we weren't around!

I must admit, she comes by the cleaning part naturally, I don't either! But I do sew and Frank hasn't starved since we have been married. And since we are going on a quarter of a century, I must do something right in the kitchen.

I got to thinking about poor little Mattie May. If they ever move out, who will teach her to cook? I feel part of this responsibility falls to me. I did, after all, have two grandmothers that were both great cooks and I think I did pick up a few things from them. Don't believe me? Just ask anyone on either side of my family about MeMaw's chowchow and Mattie B's strawberry cake, just to name a couple of things. My mom is a good cook too! Can you say broccoli cheese casserole? And when it comes to biscuits & gravy and all things on the grill, my dad is the best!

So, anyway, I have been trying to find things Mattie May can do as we prepare supper in the evenings. She really is a big help. I think when she learns to read, she will be ready to really put something together on her own. And this got me to thinking, I love to take pictures and document all the things she does. I was putting together a scapblog of her making peanut butter cookies for the first time and the light bulb when off over my head. I am going to make her a scrapblog cookbook for her when she is older! What a great keepsake. I get to cook and scrap, she gets knowledge and recipes from her childhood!

Here is the beginning. Please let me know what you think!



There will be some reorginization as I add to it, and the instructions will grow as she does. I just know that some of MeMaw's recipes are gone forever and I want Mattie May to have as many things to pass along as she can.
